The two infants who, as reported, died having been stabbed multiple times on Saturday, Nov. 27, following an apparent domestic incident at a family shelter in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx, have been formally identified, along with their 22-year-old mother who has been charged with their murder, police said.   The deceased were identified by the NYPD as Octavius Fleming-Canada, an 11-month-old baby boy of 246 Echo Place (the shelter) in the Mt. NYCHA Program Renovates 18 Homes in The Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn for Public Housing Residents

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has partnered with local agencies to renovate 18 homes throughout The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, and make them available to public housing residents through the Small Homes Rehab-NYCHA Program. Bronx Chamber of Commerce Mourns Chairman Joseph P. Kelleher & Share Funeral Details

The New Bronx Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are mourning the death of longtime chairman, Joseph P. Kelleher, and have shared details of his funeral arrangements, which are attached further below. Off-Duty NYPD School Cross Guard Arrested in The Bronx

An off-duty, NYPD school cross guard was arrested in The Bronx, police said.   On Saturday, Nov. 26, at 6.29 p.m., police said an off-duty New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 49th Precinct, which covers the neighborhoods of Allerton, Morris Park, Van Nest, Pelham Parkway, Eastchester Gardens, and Pelham Gardens.   Matthew Marichal, 41, was charged with criminal mischief and harassment.   A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.   Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime

City Council Passes Two New Bills to Support Survivors of Domestic & Gender-Based Violence

New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed two new bills into law on Tuesday, Nov. 22, which provide support for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence in New York City. Intro. 153-A amends the City’s administrative code by establishing a housing stability program for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, while Intro. 154-A amends the City’s administrative code by requiring the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) to create an online services portal and resource guide for survivors.   “Everyone deserves to be safe in their relationships and live a life free of domestic and gender-based violence,”

Fordham Heights: Two Sought following Non-Fatal Shooting

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating two people sought in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Fordham Heights.   Police said that on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at around 10.10 p.m., a 24-year-old man was walking with a friend in front of 2399 Grand Concourse when two people approached him. One of them allegedly displayed a gun and fired it several times, striking the victim once on his left arm.   The two fled the location on foot, northbound, along Grand Concourse toward East 187th Street. NYC Department of Sanitation Announces Special Leaf Collection Schedule

New York City Department of Sanitation has announced a special leaf collection schedule for City residents. Instead of decomposing in a landfill, the collected leaves will be turned into renewable energy or compost, and added to soil to nourish street trees, soil and parks. The department will collect leaves in paper leaf bags, unlined containers or curbside composting bins.
