The NYPD confirmed on Wednesday evening, Nov. 30, that a 17-year-old girl who had been reported missing from University Heights has been found and is safe. Prior to being located, it was reported to police that Skylyn Massa of University Avenue in University Heights had last been seen Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 8.40 a.m., leaving her home. She was described as being around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, Hispanic, with a medium build, a light complexion, brown eyes and black hair. She had last been seen wearing a green bubble coat, black sweatpants, and sneakers.

It was reported to police that Saul Delorbe of 2257 University Avenue was last seen leaving his home on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at around 00.50 a.m. He is around 4 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs around 100 pounds, has a thin build, a light complexion, black hair and brown eyes. Officials from the 52nd Precinct are calling on the public to help with an investigation into a non-fatal shooting incident in University Heights. They said the incident occurred on Nov. 26 at around 2:24 a.m. opposite 138 West Fordham Road. Police said a suspect shot and struck a victim in the head area before fleeing in the pictured vehicle. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information in relation to the incident. Residents are asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS with any information they may have. Calls are confidential.

Montefiore Medical Center residents and fellows requested voluntary union recognition during a press conference held outside the Norwood-based hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in New York City, on Nov. 1. The group pointed to conditions that they say were exacerbated during the pandemic and which they say continue to persist.
