All hands were called on Sunday afternoon, May 14, to respond to a fire on the third floor of a multiple dwelling located at 3003 Olinville Avenue in the Olinville section of the borough, just north of Parkside Housing Project. An FDNY spokesperson told Norwood News that the department received the call at 2.34 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. “Members were able to determine that the fire was located in the multiple dwelling [at 3003 Olinville Avenue],” the spokesperson said. A fire broke out in the Wakefield section of the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, according to the FDNY, in which two people were reported injured. A 21-year-old hospitalized man is in stable condition after he was shot in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx on Thursday afternoon, police said. A second man was also shot, officials said. A 64-year-old woman from Kingsbridge Heights has died after being hit by a vehicle on the Major Deegan Expressway, police said. A 54-year-old Riverdale man has been arrested following the death last year of a 99-year-old female pedestrian, also from Riverdale.
