UPDATE Primaries 2024: Unity Democratic Club Announces Endorsements & Votes on Healthcare Resolution

The Unity Democratic Club, which serves members of the Democratic Party throughout the northwest Bronx, announced on Friday, Jan. 26, its official endorsements for the upcoming 2024 elections. It also voted on a specific healthcare related resolution in support of the NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees.

School Children Plant 400 Donated Daffodil Bulbs Honoring 9/11 & COVID-19 Victims

In partnership with the nonprofit New Yorkers 4 Parks (NY4P) which each year organizes the cityside “Daffodil Project,” in honor of various New Yorkers who have died, students of two local public schools based in Norwood came together on Nov. 9 to plant 400 donated daffodil bulbs.

Ahead of heavy rain forecast through Wednesday, Jan. 10, as reported, City Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) is reminding the community that his office has free flood barriers available for residents.

UPDATE EMS Issues Travel Advisory Ahead of Winter Storm from Jan. 8 through Jan. 9

NYC Emergency Management Department (EMS) has issued a travel advisory for the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 9, into Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, as a strong storm is expected to impact the City and region. EMS officials said several National Weather Service (NWS) alerts have been issued for the storm.

A dense fog advisory has been issued by the local National Weather Service (NWS) center in Upton, New York effective from Tuesday, Dec. 26 at 9:57 p.m. until Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.
