Op-Ed: Preserving Woodlawn: A Stand Against Overdevelopment

On Monday, Feb. 12, the Woodlawn Heights Taxpayers and Community Association gathered at the Rambling House for a critical meeting. The focus of the discussion revolved around the alarming proposal by The City of Yes for Housing Opportunity initiative, developed by NYC Department of City Planning, which lays out potential changes throughout the city that will be significant and could have detrimental effects on the cherished neighborhood of Woodlawn.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrated Across The Bronx

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 15, in partnership with News 12 The Bronx and Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1488 Reverend Dr. Fletcher C. Crawford Way in the Charlotte Gardens section of the borough.

Creston Pharmacy Plays Santa in Bedford Park

Representation & Equity at Van Cortlandt House Museum

At the November Parks committee meeting for Bronx Community Board 8, Parks chair Deb Travis moderated a discussion on the license to operate Van Cortlandt House Museum, the oldest historic house in The Bronx. The Parks committee discussed how the National Society of Colonial Dames of New York, the oldest public/private partnership in New York City, has held the license since the 1896.

Holiday Tree-Lighting Lights up Happy Faces

Around 100 people gathered on Mosholu Parkway and Bainbridge Avenue on the border of Norwood and Bedford Park on Thursday, Dec. 7 for an annual, beloved tradition as Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7), in conjunction with Future of Mosholu Parkland (FOMP), held their year-end, festive, tree-lighting event.
