Automated Camera Enforcement (ACE) MTA Program Expands to Q6, Bx20, Bx3 and Bx7

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is reminding motorists that the Automated Camera Enforcement (ACE) program fines became effective on four more bus routes on Thursday, Nov. 13 i.e. on the Q6, Bx20, Bx3 and Bx7 bus routes and vehicles improperly using busways and bus lanes, blocking bus stops, or illegally double parked will receive summonses that start at $50 and escalate to $250 for repeat violators.

Northwest Bronx Indivisible Join Elected Officials at Rally for Bronx Student “Dylan” Facing Deportation

Local grassroots political group, Northwest Bronx Indivisible, held a rally in the Riverdale section of The Bronx on Saturday, Sept. 27, in support of 20-year-old Dylan Josue Lopez-Contreras, the Bronx high school student who, as reported in May 2025, had been attending English Language Learners International Support Academy (ELLIS) in Marble Hill, before he was detained by ICE in May during a scheduled court appearance. He has since become subject to a deportation order.

The tragic killing on Aug. 5 of 14-year-old local resident Ángel Miguel Mendoza Hernández in the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood, allegedly by an armed gang, shocked the community and lead to numerous calls for the installation of better lighting and security cameras in the Oval, and while every measure taken to date to address safety for all is, of course, valued, necessary, and appreciated, it won’t, unfortunately, bring Ángel back.
