Gas pipe replacement work is reportedly underway by a contracted entity of ConEd at the junction of Reservoir Place and Reservoir Oval West in Norwood. Trucks and construction workers were seen at the location on Wednesday, March 2. A 28-year-old man has been arrested following a burglary and criminal trespassing incident at the 52nd precinct station house in Norwood on Wednesday, Feb. 23. The NYPD said police were alerted to the man entering a partially-open side window of the precinct building, located at 3016 Webster Avenue at approximately 10.29 p.m. Police officials said officers located inside the precinct observed the man as he gained entry and attempted to walk around the station house. Gibson hosted her annual Black History Month event, celebrating African-American history and culture. on Friday, Feb. 25, at 5.30 p.m. at Maestro’s Caterers Banquet Hall in the Van Nest section of The Bronx, and was joined on the night by New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Police Athletic League (PAL) youngsters from all five boroughs of New York City participated in the citywide PAL Tournament of Champions STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Challenge, on Wednesday, Feb. 16. The once popular Madden’s Pub, located at East Bedford Park Boulevard and Villa Avenue in the Bedford Park neighborhood, has sadly and quietly closed its door after at least 50 years in business. Since the pandemic first hit, Madden’s had struggled to survive. In the summer of 2021, the management team opened an outdoor shed for additional seating and brought in a giant TV so that fans could see NFL games on Sundays. The owners also installed a small window for takeout orders and began selling White Castle hamburgers, a move which had begun to draw crowds.
