Bronx Exhibit Celebrates “Friendship and Activism” of Puerto Rican LGBTQ+ Activist

In honor of LGBTQ+ History Month in October, Bronx Community College Archives and Special Collections and Bronx Community College LGBTQI+ Resource Room, in partnership with the Bronx County Historical Society, opened Have a Heart: Friendship & Activism of Jesús Lebrón, an exhibit that celebrates Bronx-born, Puerto Rican activist, Jesús Lebrón, and his central role in struggles for LGBTQ+ rights, including marriage equality.   Have a Heart opened at Bronx Community College on National Coming Out Day, Oct. 11, and consists of a selection from the Jesús Lebrón papers, recently donated to the Bronx County Archives at the Bronx County Historical Society

UPDATE Elections 2022: Nov. 8 Unofficial Results & Reaction to Statewide and North Bronx Races

After the polls closed on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the New York City Board of Elections released the initial, unofficial results of the general elections, based on a percentage of returned poll site scanners. These initial results cover both early votes and election day votes. Absentee and overseas ballots still have to be counted, as do the remaining scanners.   Below is a summary of the unofficial results to date of the main Statewide and North Bronx races. UPDATE NY Lottery Announces $2.04 Billion Jackpot Winning Numbers, Multiple 3rd Prize Winners in New York

New York Lottery representatives said on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the latest Powerball drawing for the world record $2.04 billion jackpot was carried out at 8:57 a.m. EST at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.   The winning numbers were white balls 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and red Powerball 10. The Power Play® multiplier was 2X. Friends of Mosholu Parkland Host Fall / Halloween Community Festival at Mosholu Playground

  Under some glorious fall sunshine, Friends of Mosholu Parkland (FOMP) were back with gusto as they celebrated a delightful, organic-themed Fall / Halloween Community Festival in Mosholu Playground at P.S. 8 in Bedford Park on Saturday, Oct. 15.   The festival drew local kids dressed in Halloween costumes, as they munched on hot dogs, popcorn, donuts and treats. Norwood Delights in Live Hispanic Dance Show to Mark Hispanic Heritage Month
