Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers Union Launch Apprenticeship Recruitment Campaign

The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers, Local Union #8 will carry out a recruitment campaign from March 13 through March 24, for 25 roofer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced on Feb. 14.   According to the union, applications are open for a combined total of 25 roofer apprenticeships, covering two recruitment regions, in the Hudson Valley and in the New York City.   Applications may be completed and submitted online only, starting at 8 a.m. on March 13 at www.roofers8.org, and must be received online by 11:59 p.m. on March 24.  According to

Fordham Manor Resident One of Two Fatal Victims of Multiple Shooting in Tremont

Parkchester: 27-Year-Old Man Dies following Early Morning Shooting

A 27-year-old man has died following an early morning shooting in Parkchester.   Police said that on Saturday, Feb. 11, at around 5.01 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in front of 1556 White Plains Road, located in the 43rd Precinct. Bedford Park: Man Sought following Non-Fatal Early Morning Shooting on Webster Avenue

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing on Friday, Feb. 10.   It was reported to police that Alexa Olivera of 2444 Devoe Terrace in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx was last seen on Friday, Feb. 3, at around 2.11 p.m., inside her home. Mystery Surrounds Death of Norwood Man, 5 Months Later

Yadhira González-Taylor Inducted as Civil Court Judge at Monroe College Ceremony

Belmont native, The Hon.
