This week, we asked residents living in the vicinity of Jerome Avenue and East Gun Hill Road in Norwood, Woodlawn Heights, Van Cortlandt Park South, and Broadway if they have been bothered recently by loud music and partying in Van Cortlandt Park, since it tends to get worse in summer. Only residents around Van Cortlandt Village were willing to speak on the record.

After a sweltering day at the polls, approximately 930,505 voters had cast their ballots by poll closure in the New York State Primaries on June 24 (latest numbers as of 7.30 p.m.), including 97,632 Bronxites, 272,884 Manhattanites, 336387 Brooklynites, 193,881 voters in Queens and 29,721 voters on Staten Island.

State Sen. Gustavo Rivera (S.D. 33) joined local supporters of mayoral candidate and, according to some recent polls, the frontrunner in the Democratic mayoral race, Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani (A.D. 36), on Mosholu Parkway in Bedford Park on Sunday, June 22, to canvass for his number one mayoral pick, before later heading to Fordham for a separate “No Cuomo” rally. The latter was organized to oppose Democratic mayoral candidate and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
