Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Tuesday, Oct. 28, that a man has been charged with first-degree rape and other related charges in a violent sexual assault on a woman in her Norwood building stairwell, as reported at the time.
“This defendant is charged with a frightening and life-altering attack on an innocent woman in the place where she lives,” Clark said. “We will hold him accountable for this violence and provide the victim with the support she needs to overcome the trauma.”
Clark said the defendant, Kenneth Siriboe, 21, was arraigned Tuesday on first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree robbery and sexual misconduct by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Eugene Bowen. She said he is being held on $300,000 bail and is due back in court in December.

According to the investigation, and as reported at the time, on Sept. 28, at around 5 a.m., in the Norwood section of the borough, the 36-year-old female victim arrived to her building and Siriboe allegedly approached her in the stairwell, covered her mouth, choked her, threw her to the ground and raped her.
Prosecutors said he punched her in the face, breaking her nose and took her handbag which had her wallet, keys and cash in it. They said the victim was treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx in Norwood, and added that the attack was captured on video including audio of the victim’s pleas to stop the assault.
They said Siriboe was arrested on Sept. 29, as reported at the time, and was wearing the same clothes seen in the attached video recording of the assault.
The case is being prosecuted by Siobhan McHale, major case assistant with the child abuse/sex crimes bureau under the supervision of Johanna Hernandez, deputy chief of the child abuse/sex crimes bureau, Alexandra Militano, deputy chief of the child abuse/sex crimes bureau, Mimi Mairs, chief of the child abuse/sex crimes bureau, and under the overall supervision of Adrienne Giunta, deputy chief of special victims division and Joseph Muroff, chief of special victims division.
Clark thanked Jillian Crowley, trial preparation assistant with the child abuse/sex crimes bureau for her work on the case, along with NYPD Detective Carolyn Tully and Police Officer Maura Delohery of the Bronx Special Victims Unit.
Siriboe is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
