UPDATE Morris Heights: 60-Year-Old Man Hit by Car While Crossing the Street in Fatal Accident

Police confirmed a 60-year-old man died after being hit by a car in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx as he was attempting to cross the street. Another man has since been taken into custody in relation to the incident.   On Sunday, Feb. 13, at approximately 6.59 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle collision at 1657 Jerome Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers observed a 60-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma to the head and body.   EMS responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. Woman Threatened & Robbed Aboard 4 Train

  The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo and video regarding a robbery that occurred aboard the #4 subway, in the 52nd precinct. A 26-year-old woman told police that on Jan. 24, at 4.20 p.m., as she was aboard a northbound #4 train, an unidentified man threatened the woman with an unknown sharp object in the stomach area, demanding her property.   The man removed the victim’s wallet, which contained various credit cards as well as her identification. City’s Emergency Management Team Urges New Yorkers to Avoid Travel Amid Latest Snow Advisory

  New York City Emergency Management Department issued a travel advisory for Sunday,  Feb. 13, amid a forecast for light snow expected to last through Sunday afternoon. UPDATE Bedford Park: Additional Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of Two Men

  Police confirm they have arrested a second man in connection with the fatal shooting of two other men following an incident in Bedford Park in February.   Police said officers responded to a 911 call on Saturday,  Feb. 12, at approximately 10.54 p.m. regarding a man who had been shot at East 198th Street and Webster Avenue. Upon arrival, they observed two aided men in front of 397 East 198th Street: a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso, and a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the face.   EMS also responded to the incident

Fordham Manor: 23-Year-Old Man Shot Twice

The NYPD said a 23-year-old man was shot twice in Fordham Manor on Thursday, Feb. 10.   Sergeant Edward Riley, NYPD spokesperson, said officers responded to the incident which occurred in front of 2556 Davidson Avenue at 8 p.m. on Thursday. A 23-year-old male victim told police he was walking [along the street] when he heard gunfire. He then sustained two gunshots, one to his left leg and one to his left arm.   The victim said the unidentified suspect fled the area in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Broken windows and graffiti-laden subway cars are symbols of a society that is out of control. A permissive approach to crime is making it extremely difficult for law-abiding citizens to live in New York City.   Former Police Commissioner William Bratton was credited with controlling crime between the 1990s and 2017 in Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles, through enforcing punishment for minor crimes in order to prevent major crimes.
