Allerton: Assault on Employee of Chinese Restaurant Over Food Service

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying the woman seen in the attached video who is wanted for questioning in connection to an assault that occurred inside a Chinese restaurant in Allerton.

 

On Monday, March 7, at approximately 2.15 p.m., the woman entered China Mia Restaurant, located on 2232 White Plains Road in Allerton and began a verbal dispute with a 33-year-old female employee about the food service.

 

The woman then went behind the food counter of the restaurant and punched the victim with a closed fist multiple times in the head, and then fled on foot to parts unknown. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The assailant is described as female, has a light skin complexion, is in her 20s, is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, has black hair which was tied in a ponytail on the day of the incident, and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white sneakers.

 

Surveillance video and photo of the woman are attached and were obtained from the incident location.

 

Norwood News asked if the victim was Asian, and if there were any racial slurs used during the course of the incident. A police spokesperson replied, “Victim is Asian. There is no additional information available regarding [any] statements made during the incident.”

 

Democratic female district leader for Assembly District 80, Irene Estrada, later said of the incident, “Today, I met with the boss and he explained that the employee is very scared and that was very traumatic for all.” She added, “I assured him that the police will find this woman and that our district will continue to support them in love and prayers.”
