Group Sought in Robbery Pattern Traced Across The Bronx & Manhattan

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person and vehicle seen in the attached photos in the context of a robbery pattern which has been traced across The Bronx and Manhattan during April and May 2023. The first incident occurred in the Kingsbridge Heights section of The Bronx in the 50th Precinct, police said. A 2-alarm fire in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on Thursday resulted in no injuries, FDNY officials said. The blaze broke out on the 1st floor of a residential building at 5 Minerva Place by Jerome Avenue and Creston Avenue, FDNY officials said, adding that they were alerted to the incident at 1.25 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. An FDNY spokesperson said 25 units, comprising 106 firefighters responded to the scene at the 6-story building and the blaze was placed under control at 2.54 p.m. The spokesperson added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in this video who the department says is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Fordham Heights on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Police said they have arrested a man for an assault on a 62-year-old man in Fordham Heights earlier this month. The NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating Leone Ultan, 70, who was reported missing from Fordham Manor on Wednesday, May 24. Police said that Ultan of 2550 Webb Avenue was last seen leaving her home on Thursday, May 4, at around 7.25 p.m. She was described by police as female, has a light complexion and white hair, is around 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs around 105 pounds. Farrah Kule Rubin is the new Bronx Community Board 8 district manager. The news was shared with community members at a Bronx Community Board 8 meeting earlier this month. A now annual COVID memorial ceremony was once again held by local northwest Bronx residents, including Friends of Jerome Park, at Fort Washington Walk at the corner of Reservoir Avenue and University Avenue in Jerome Park on Saturday, May 13, to commemorate those lost to COVID-19 over the course of the recent pandemic. On Oct. 23, 2021, a tree-planting ceremony took place at the same location to memorialize all victims of the pandemic. Three of the trees were seen this year growing very well. Twenty-eight students from P.S. 199, The Shakespeare School, were the lucky recipients of new bikes last week thanks to the Montefiore School Health Program and the Montefiore Einstein Center for Performance Improvement. The bikes were presented to the students at their school, located at 1449 Shakespeare Avenue in the Mt. Eden section of The Bronx on Friday, May 19. Montefiore officials said the Grade 1 to 5 students, who were entered into a raffle after demonstrating respect, readiness, and responsibility, also learned about bike safety during the giveaway event. The driver of a scooter was reportedly injured and treated at a local hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Jerome Avenue in Bedford Park on Monday in what appears to be the second collision to occur along a two-block section of the avenue, and within 10 days of a previous collision involving a bus and a car.
