The NYPD said they have made an arrest following an assault that occurred in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx on April 16. As reported, they had been asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who they said was wanted in connection with the incident.
They said that on Thursday, April 16, at around 8.30 p.m., a 58-year-old man was in the vicinity of 1765 University Avenue when an unidentified person approached him and a verbal dispute ensued.
“When the victim was walking away, the individual displayed a knife and stabbed the victim twice in the back,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “The individual then fled the location in an unknown direction. EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.”

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police said on Tuesday, May 5, that Odane A Roye, 31, from the Highbridge section of The Bronx was arrested the same day at 5 p.m. in the confines of the 46th Precinct.
They said he was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
