Norwood: Veterans Flagpole to be Restored at Woodlawn Station Councilman Dinowitz’s Office Confirms

The Office of City Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) has confirmed that the MTA has committed to restoring the flagpole located next to Woodlawn subway station, the last stop on the 4 train. The flagpole, which was erected in the early ‘70s according to former Bronx resident and now Yonkers-based U.S. Navy Veteran Thomas Moore, had fallen into disrepair, is extremely rusty, and appears to be not so secure.

Norwood: Two Sought for Beating & Slashing Man by Woodlawn Subway Station

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating two people seen in the attached photo who police say are sought in connection with an assault in Norwood by Woodlawn subway station.   Police said that on Sunday, May 21, at around 3 a.m., a 29-year-old male victim was standing outside a business located at 3700 Jerome Avenue in Norwood (which is by Woodlawn subway station which serves the 4 line). UPDATE Norwood: Murder Inquiry Opens following Fatal Shooting at Woodlawn Subway Station

A 45-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting (murder) in Norwood police said. The victim was later named by police as Devon Millington from the Wakefield section of The Bronx, who had previously served reduced time in prison on murder and drug-related charges.   Police said the incident occurred on Saturday April 15, at 5.47 a.m. in the vicinity of Woodlawn station, which is the last stop on the 4 subway line in The Bronx.   The previous morning, as reported, a 52-year-old man had been robbed and assaulted at Mosholu Parkway subway station, one stop before Woodlawn on

UPDATE: More Details Emerge of Bee-line Bus Crash in Norwood Which Injured 14, One Critically

  Police and other investigators have provided further details of the circumstances which gave rise to a horrific road accident in Norwood  on Thursday, July 29, as reported.
