NYPD Officer Arrested for Leaving Scene of Accident
An NYPD police officer has been arrested following an accident which occurred in the 50th precinct which covers the neighborhoods of Kingsbridge, Marble Hill, Spuyten Duyvil, Riverdale and Fieldston, including Wave Hill, a historic mansion and garden overlooking the Hudson River, and Van Cortlandt Park, one of the largest parks in New York City. Police said on Wednesday, May 11, at approximately 5.40 a.m., off-duty police officer, Luis Tejada, 25, was arrested and charged in relation to an accident during which the officer left the scene and made a false report regarding the incident. Eric Adams Tests Positive for COVID-19 Two Days after Attending Yankees Season Reopening
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has tested positive for COVID-19 two days after attending the Yankees season reopening home game against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, and on the mayor’s 100th day in office. The news follows the mayor’s recent, controversial decision to lift a ban to allow “elite” New York State athletes to play home games despite not being vaccinated. According to the CDC, a person with COVID-19 is considered infectious starting two days before they develop symptoms, or two days before the date of their positive test, if they do not have symptoms.
