UPDATE Man with History of Violence & Mental Health Issues Charged with Fatal Stabbing of 14-Year-Old Boy

A 14-year-old boy who grew up in the Wakefield section of the Bronx and who later moved to Mott Haven, has died following a fatal stabbing in Mott Haven on his way to school on Friday, Jan. 10, police said. Earlier on Friday, police had appealed to the public for help identifying the person seen in he attached image and video who they said was sought for questioning in connection to the incident and who they said they believed may have also been responsible for a prior stabbing of a 38-year-old male victim which also took place in Mott Haven earlier in January.

UPDATE As Heatwave Continues into Weekend, EMS & Health Department Urge New Yorkers to Take Precautions

NYC Emergency Management and the NYC health department are reminding New Yorkers to take precautions to beat the heat as the current heatwave continues into the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) has advised that a heat advisory is in effect until Sunday, June 23, at 8 p.m. Hot and humid conditions are in the forecast throughout the weekend, with heat index values in the upper 90s to 100 across the city.

UPDATE NYC EMS & Department of Health Issue Advisory to New Yorkers on How to Beat the Heat

NYC Emergency Management Department (EMS) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH) are advising New Yorkers to take precautions to beat the heat following a heat advisory by the National Weather Service (NWS), from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7. Hot and humid conditions are in the forecast from Tuesday to Thursday, with heat index values in the upper 90s across the City, according to NWS.

Bedford Park: Two Teens Hospitalized following Multiple Shooting

The NYPD is asking the public’s help identifying two suspects seen in the attached surveillance video regarding a non-fatal, multiple shooting incident that occurred in Bedford Park, where two teens were shot.   It was reported to police that on Thursday, May 12, at approximately 9.30 p.m., the two teens were walking in front of 382 East 197th Street, when they observed a group of individuals in front of 2720 Decatur Avenue.   The group fired at them multiple times, striking the first teen victim, a 14-year-old male, in the left arm and the second teen victim, a 15-year-old male,
