Dressed in orange, and carrying signs often bigger than themselves, children and teens who participate in various programs offered by Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC), took to the streets on Friday, June 3, to mark the beginning of Gun Violence Awareness Month. The lack of trash cans for pedestrians on Bronx streets has been noticed by residents for quite a while. Janessa Perez of 1134 White Plains Road Apt. 2R Bronx, NY was last seen on Sunday, June 12, at 11 p.m., leaving her home. The NYPD said Tuesday that an unidentified toddler has been reunited with family after the child was found on a street corner late at night. Police said on Monday, June 13, at around 11.02 p.m., police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a child who had been found at the corner of Randall Avenue and Olmstead Avenue in Castle Hill. “Upon arrival, police observed a male, approximately 2-years-old, who was found unattended at the location by a 29-year-old male witness,” police officials said. A 42-year-old woman has been found deceased inside a residential building in Belmont. Police said on Friday, June 10, at around 5 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding the aided woman who was inside an apartment at on East 187th Street. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 42-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive inside of a bathroom, that suffered a large amount of blood loss,” police officials said. “EMS responded and pronounced the female deceased on scene.
