Norwood: Three Hospitalized after Crash on Mosholu Parkway & West Gun Hill Road

Three people were hospitalized following a car crash in the Norwood section of The Bronx on Saturday, July 11, according to the City’s fire department.

 

An FDNY spokesperson said that the department received a call at 3.13 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a motor vehicle collision at Mosholu Parkway and West Gun Hill Road.

 

They said five civilian patients incurred minor injuries, three were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Belmont and two refused medical attention. They said their conditions and descriptions were unknown.

 

Meanwhile, the NYPD said that on July 11, at around 3 p.m., an 86-year-old male was driving a 2005 Subaru southbound on Mosholu Parkway making a left turn onto West Gun Hill Road when the vehicle collided with a 2013 Honda driven by a 56-year-old woman.

 

They said the 86-year-old male driver and his 66-year-old female passenger of the Subaru and the 56-year-old female driver and her 30-year-old male passenger and 23-year-old female passenger of the Honda were all transported to St Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

 

Police said that with collision investigations, the NYPD handles all criminal aspects of the investigation, while NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) reviews the street design at the locations of such crashes.
