The condition of a seemingly injured person seen lying on East Gun Hill Road in Norwood in a video filmed by a bystander on Thursday afternoon, June 29, is currently unknown.

A video posted to the Citizens’ App on Thursday, June 29, at around 1.30 p.m. shows a person lying on Gun Hill Road by the intersection with DeKalb Avenue, surrounded by bystanders, some using walking canes. According to unverified reports by users of the Citizens’ App, the person was hit by a car at 47 E Gun Hill Road around 1 p.m.

Users of the app said the car in question was a Nissan with a North Carolina license plate and reportedly fled the scene. They added that “police stated” the victim was breathing and the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. They added that EMS transported the victim to the hospital.

However, when Norwood News followed up with both the NYPD and EMS, we were unable to validate any of this information. We contacted EMS and the NYPD about the reported incident and neither had any official report of it. We’ve since reached out to local area hospitals to check if the victim was assisted locally and will update this story should we receive more information.

Earlier the same day, as reported, a 74-year-old female pedestrian was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx.
