Among the 51,402 finishers in the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 5, were two local runners and members of Norwood-based running group, Bronx Nomads. We spoke to both women ahead of, and on, race day as they joined what New York Road Runners said was the world’s largest marathon of 2023, and the third-largest edition of the race in the event’s history.

Troon, described by company officials as a leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, and Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point in The Bronx, announced a new consulting agreement and sales and marketing partnership on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Bally’s officials said they selected Troon to provide support with operations, procurement, sales and marketing, retail merchandising, and agronomy.

BP, Bronx Tourism Council & Transportation Alternatives Announce Kick-off of Tour de Bronx

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson announced the kick-off of the 29th Annual Tour de Bronx on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Lou Gehrig Plaza in the Concourse section of The Bronx. In partnership with The Bronx Tourism Council, Transportation Alternatives, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of New York, Inc., Montefiore Medical Center, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and The Bronx Community Foundation, the formal launch served to highlight the annual bike race which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 22. CM Dinowitz Breaks Down Highlights of $107 Billion City Budget & $30 Million for C.D. 11

City Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) gave a budget presentation to district residents on Wednesday, Aug. 2, highlighting some of the local initiatives that will benefit from funding, following the adoption of the City’s $107 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year. The councilman went over the city budget process, discussed the major highlights from the latest adopted city budget, and broke down some of the $30 million plus in discretionary funding for capital projects and other funding secured for C.D. 11, in conjunction with Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.
