Clason Point: Police Search for 13-Year-Old Missing Boy

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance locating a 13-year-old boy reported missing in the 43rd precinct. Austin Cooke, 13, of 541 Rosedale, Apt. 6C in Clason Point, was last seen on Saturday, May 15, at approximately 12.45 in the afternoon inside his home. He is described as male, 13 years-old, White, approximately 5 feet tall, approximately 100 pounds, has brown eyes and red hair. He was last seen wearing blue pants. A photo is attached. Police confirmed arresting a youth from Fordham Heights on murder charges on Tuesday in relation to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Claremont last weekend. Police responded to a 911 call on Saturday, May 15, at approximately 9.07 p.m. regarding multiple people who had been shot at the rear of 1625 Webster Avenue in Claremont, in the 44th precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 17-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police responded to a 911 call on Sunday, May 16, at approximately 00.31 a.m., regarding a man who had been shot in front of 340 East 184 Street in Fordham Heights, in the 46th precinct. Preliminary investigation revealed he was a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen during a dispute at the location. The man was transported by private means to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injury. There are no arrests at this time. The investigation remains ongoing. UPDATE Jeffrey Dinowitz Introduces Legislation to Combat the Creation of Fake Vaccination Cards

The FBI issued a warning on March 30 about a growing number of fraudulent vaccination cards which were being peddled to New Yorkers and to American residents, nationwide. Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz has now introduced legislation at State level to charge those partaking in such fraud. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the FBI issued the warning in March to make the public aware that there were individuals both selling fake COVID-19 vaccination record cards and encouraging others to print such fake cards in their homes. The NYPD confirm being alerted of an attempted robbery on Friday, May 14, at around 9.40 p.m. at 2526 Valentine Avenue in Fordham Manor in the 52nd precinct. A 54-year-old male victim reported to police that two men, unknown to the victim, who were wearing black hoodies and masks knocked on his door. For the twelfth time in 13 years, a Bedford Park senior says he has suffered through a flood of rushing water pouring into his home. However, this time, he said the cascading water brought down the ceiling on top of his head in a spare room adjacent to his living room. Longtime tenant, Tony Apostolos, 78, of 116 East Mosholu Parkway South, invited Norwood News to inspect the damage to his apartment and belongings on Sunday, April 25, a day after rushing water caused his ceiling to collapse, and sent Apostolos on a day trip to the hospital.

What are the odds? Two vehicles with the same make, model and year were involved in a three-car, motor vehicle collision that briefly shut down Jerome Avenue in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx on Sunday, May 9. The incident occurred during daylight hours amid light rain, which possibly gave rise to poor visibility under the covered avenue. Two of the three drivers involved in the incident were observed by Norwood News at the scene of the incident pleading their case to different police officers on site, and stating that the fault lay with the other party.
