Fordham Manor: Search for Missing 16-Year-Old Mother & Three-Month-Old Son

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two people in reported missing on Tuesday, June 22, in Fordham Manor.   Katerin Thomas, 16, of 2710 Bainbridge Avenue and her son, Joshua Castillo, 3 months, also of 2710 Bainbridge Avenue in Fordham Manor were both last seen by their uncle on Sunday, June 13, at approximately 6 p.m. inside their home.   Photos of both missing persons are attached.   Anyone with information in regard to these missing persons is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Update: Fire in University Heights Under Control, Possibly Suspicious

  Norwood News received reports that a fire broke out in University Heights on Saturday, June 19, and that the cause of the fire is possibly being treated as suspicious. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing in Fordham Manor in the 52nd precinct.   Cheyenne Jones, 16, of 2500 University Avenue was last seen on June 7, at around 7 a.m. at her home. She is described as female, about 5 feet, 1 inch tall, Black, and weighs about 110 pounds. State Comptroller Releases Economic Report on The Bronx

The COVID-19 pandemic hit the Bronx harder than any other borough by several measures, according to an economic analysis released on June 8 by the New York State comptroller, Thomas P. Assembly Passes Bill Mandating Ongoing Training of Forensic Evaluators of Child Abuse Cases

A landmark bill (A2375B) which creates new standards for those working in a profession that often holds significant influence in the outcomes of custody and visitation hearings has been passed in New York State Assembly, as confirmed by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) on Friday, June 11.    The legislation adds new requirements for child custody forensic evaluators. Under the bill, such evaluators must be New York State-licensed psychologists, social workers, or psychiatrists who have undergone biennial domestic violence-related training.
