Bronx DA: Rikers Inmate Charged with Attempted Rape of Nurse & Forcibly Touching DOC Officer

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Monday, Jan. 24, that a Rikers Island inmate has been charged with attempted rape in the first degree and with additional charges for sexually abusing a nurse, and for forcibly touching a female Department of Correction officer in the jail.   In announcing the charges, Clark said, “The defendant allegedly forcibly touched a female correction officer. Winter Weather Advisory & Travel Advisory Issued for Sunday, Jan. 23 from 4 p.m.

Due to the possibility of up to 5 inches of snow on Sunday, Jan. 23, amid several days of freezing cold temperatures, the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has issued a “winter operations advisory” for Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m. The advisory is the department’s “lower level” winter weather message, as opposed to the department’s “higher level” snow alert.   City officials said snow is expected to move in this afternoon, with a possibility of a coating of up to 5 inches overnight. Throggs Neck: Person Transported to Hospital following Vehicle Flip

One person was transported to hospital following a road accident in Throggs Neck.   The FDNY reported that emergency services received a call regarding an incident at 1.39 p.m. on Jan. 13, at Harding Avenue and Revere Avenue in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx for a report of an overturned vehicle and motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. They said one person was transported to Albert Einstein Hospital.   The NYPD confirmed on Tuesday, Jan. 25, that a 36-year-old man from Allerton who was reported missing on Sunday, Jan. 16, has been located.     Prior to being located, Eric Rivera, 36, of Pelham Parkway North in the The Bronx, had last been seen on Sunday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m., leaving his home. DSNY Issues ‘Winter Operations Advisory’ for Sunday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m.

UPDATE Gas Odor Report at Morris Heights Business Yields No Fire

The FDNY confirmed no injuries were reported following a call received of a gas odor in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx.   An FDNY official said the department responded to a caller who reported a gas odor on Jan. 13, at 11.46 a.m. at 1800 Cedar Avenue, where they found no injuries. A New York State alert issued in respect of a “Missing Vulnerable Adult,” and which related to a 25-year-old, White male who was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey sweats, and blue sneakers, has been cancelled.   The alert was issued in respect of Jeremy Ramos, 25, from The Bronx at 6:02 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, but was later cancelled.
