The NYPD has confirmed that a 12-year-old girl who had been reported missing in Allerton has been found and is safe.   Prior to being located, according to police, Zamari Alvarez had last been seen in the vicinity of her home in Allerton on Thursday, April 7, at around 6 p.m. She was described as female, approximately 5 feet, 3 inches in height, Hispanic, weighing around 120 pounds, with brown eyes and dark hair. UPDATE NWS Issues Flood Advisory for New York through April 9

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood advisory for New York which is in effect until Saturday, April 9, at 3 a.m. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected in southeast New York, including in the The Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester, and in portions of southern Connecticut like Fairfield.   Minor flooding is expected in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage. Police said they have made two arrests following the shooting of a 61-year-old female bystander in Fordham Heights on Monday, April 4.
