UPDATE Espaillat, Velázquez Denied Access to Visit ICE Detention Facilities in Lower Manhattan
Democratic congress members, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and Rep. Nydia Velázquez (NY-7), were refused entry to the 10th floor of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan on Sunday, June 8, when they attempted to conduct oversight of the facility amid allegations of “overcrowding, unbearable heat, and people being forced to sleep on bathroom floors.”

UPDATE Kingsbridge Heights: Second 13-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Fatal Shooting on University Avenue
Police said a second, unnamed 13-year-old boy has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in Kingsbridge Heights in April. A 33-year-old woman was also shot during the same incident, and one 13-year-old boy was already arrested and charged in connection with the incident on May 28, as reported.
