UPDATE Kingsbridge: Gas Rupture Sealed on W 231st Street but Ruins Tuesday Lunch Trade for Small Businesses
There were no injuries reported after a gas rupture on 231st Street and Broadway in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Tuesday, April 7, according to FDNY. A strong odor of gas resulting from the leak drew several emergency service units and Con Edison to the scene where they were seen working for a few hours to evacuate the affected streets and order the closure of some local businesses while they worked to seal the rupture, hampering the regular lunch trade.
