There will be no trash, recycling collection or street cleaning Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day, as announced by New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) on Wednesday, May 19.    Residents who normally receive Monday trash collection may place their material at the curb between 4 p.m. and midnight Monday evening. However, there will be collection delays, as is common after holidays. Update: Elevator Collapse in Port Morris, One Dead

This is a developing story.   FDNY has confirmed that an elevator collapsed at 8.17 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, at 20 Bruckner Blvd in Port Morris in the South Bronx. One person was found dead on arrival at the scene and another is critical. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance locating a 13-year-old boy reported missing in the 43rd precinct. Update: Fordham Heights Youth Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old in Claremont

Police confirmed arresting a youth from Fordham Heights on murder charges on Tuesday in relation to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Claremont last weekend.   Police responded to a 911 call on Saturday, May 15, at approximately 9.07 p.m. regarding multiple people who had been shot at the rear of 1625 Webster Avenue in Claremont, in the 44th precinct. Fordham Heights: Fatal Shooting of 34-Year-Old Man Amid Dispute

Police responded to a 911 call on Sunday, May 16, at approximately 00.31 a.m., regarding a man who had been shot in front of 340 East 184 Street in Fordham Heights, in the 46th precinct. Preliminary investigation revealed he was a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen during a dispute at the location.   The man was transported by private means to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injury. The FBI issued a warning on March 30 about a growing number of fraudulent vaccination cards which were being peddled to New Yorkers and to American residents, nationwide.
