UPDATE Senior Woman Located in the Castle Hill Area Reunited with Family

  A senior female resident located in the Castle Hill area on Monday morning has been reunited with her family, police said.   The NYPD had been asking for the public’s help in locating the woman’s family when she was located in the Castle Hill area on Monday, Jan. 9, at 11.05 a.m. A police spokesperson had said at the time the unidentified woman was discovered in the vicinity of Castle Hill Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway. P.J. Salvage Recalls Children’s Pajamas Due to Burn Hazard

  The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Jan. 5, that P.J. Salvage has recalled about 2,650 units of a specific set of children’s pajamas which have failed to meet the federal, flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. A refund is being offered for the returns.   The recalled children’s pajama sets are 65 percent polyester and 35 percent rayon and comprise a two-piece, long-sleeve shirt and pants set. Marble Hill: Bike Giveaway on Jan. 6 at 4 p.m. to Celebrate Three Kings Day

Kicking off at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, local community members will host a Three Kings Day children’s bike giveaway and community celebration at 5237 Broadway, (between 225th Street and 228th Street) in the Marble Hill section of The Bronx. DEA: Enough Lethal Fentanyl Seized in NY in 2022 to Kill New York State Population X 3

Officials from the New York division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and NYC’s Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced on Thursday, Jan. 5, that record amounts of fentanyl-laced, fake prescription pills and fentanyl powder were seized in New York during 2022, including in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx.   Special narcotics prosecutor (SNP), Bridget G. Montefiore-Einstein Receives $5.2 Million in NIH Grant to Study Heart Failure in Hispanic Populations

Cardiology researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) and Montefiore Health System (Montefiore) have received a 5-year, $5.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to explore the underlying causes of heart failure among Hispanics/Latinos, who are at heightened risk for heart disease.
