Norwood: Old School Fun at Annual Easter Egg Hunt in The Williamsbridge Oval

Over 1,000 Bronx kids and their parents gathered in the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood for the annual spring Easter egg hunt, organized by NYC Parks’ Department on Saturday, April 8. The event comprised all types of games, arts & crafts, and fun activities for children of all ages, including traditional Easter egg hunts and “old school” potato sack races. To keep things fair and safe, both activities catered to kids of different age groups. Several hundred children and their parents gathered in St. James Park along Jerome Avenue and East 192nd Street just south of Kingsbridge Heights in Fordham Manor for the 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8. Chabad Synagogues and Centers of Westchester County are coming together to welcome families of all backgrounds and faiths to the Jewish Family Festival, an event celebrating Jewish life in the leadup to Passover. The event takes place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, at Ridge Hill on the South Lawn in Yonkers, New York and is free of charge. The project, dubbed “Jewish Family Festival,” is a joint project of the combined Chabad centers of Westchester and the Bronx, a group of organizations that empower Jews of all walks of life to come together to celebrate their heritage.

Dozens of crew members from Universal Television LLC’s TV crime drama, “FBI,” which is broadcast on CBS, recently spent the day in and around Botanical Square in Bedford Park, filming an episode for the show’s 5th season. Film crews arrived with a dozen or more large trucks early on Thursday, Feb. 16, and stayed until rain appeared to stop the shoot in the late afternoon.
