Dozens of crew members from Universal Television LLC’s TV crime drama, “FBI,” which is broadcast on CBS, recently spent the day in and around Botanical Square in Bedford Park, filming an episode for the show’s 5th season.

Film crews arrived with a dozen or more large trucks early on Thursday, Feb. 16, and stayed until rain appeared to stop the shoot in the late afternoon. According to a flier seen posted to street poles around the neighborhood, the crew had planned to film on the day up to 10 p.m.

According to CBS, from Craig Turk, Emmy award winner, Dick Wolf, and the team behind the “Law & Order” brand, FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The show premiered on September 25, 2018.

An extract on CBS’s website reads, “This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick, who spent two years undercover for the DEA [Drug Enforcement Agency] before being cherry-picked by the FBI. Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille who operates under intense pressure and has undeniable command authority.”

It continues, “The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to, and engage with, both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. The smart and outspoken Special Agent Tiffany Wallace, who spent six years with the NYPD, is partner to Special Agent Stuart Scola, an Ivy League-educated Wall Streeter-turned-FBI agent. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence.”

While residents may have hoped to spot some of the show’s stars on the day, which include Missy Peregrym who plays Bell, Zeeko Zaki who plays Zidan, Alana De La Garza who plays Castille, Katherine Renee Turner who plays Wallace, Jeremy Sisto who plays Valentine, and John Boyd who plays Scola, none appear to have been seen during the shoot, as most of the scenes appear to have been shot inside a public garage located on Webster Avenue.

FBI can been watched Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
