Riverdale: Man Arrested following Road Accident which Killed 99-Year-Old Female Pedestrian

A 54-year-old Riverdale man has been arrested following the death last year of a 99-year-old female pedestrian, also from Riverdale.   As previously reported, the 99-year-old died after she was struck by an SUV while attempting to cross an intersection in southeast Riverdale, just west of the Kingsbridge border, on July 27, at around 8.30 a.m.   Police said officers were flagged down regarding a pedestrian who had been struck at Oxford Street and West 235th Street on the day of the incident. Dr. Anita Gupta Appointed as New Chief Surgeon of DOC’s Health Management Division

NYC Department of Corrections (DOC) announced the appointment on Thursday, April 20, of Dr. Anita Gupta as the new chief surgeon of its health management division (HMD). University Heights: 25-Year-Old Man Shot in Leg in Stable Condition

Norwood: As State Budget Talks Drag On, Health Officials Join Advocates Calling to Expand Healthcare Coverage to Immigrants

UPDATE Wakefield: Man Arrested on Murder Charge following Fatal Shooting of 32-Year-Old Man

A 31-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal shooting in mid-April of a 32-year-old man in the Wakefield section of The Bronx, police said.   As reported, an NYPD spokesperson said that on Tuesday, April 18, at around 10.53 p.m., officers from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in front of 4531 Hill Avenue.   “Upon arrival officers observed a 32-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.”

A 45-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting (murder) in Norwood police said. Kingsbridge: Man Armed with Imitation Pistol acting “Crazy” Shot by Police on Elevated Subway Track

  One man has been hospitalized following a police-involved shooting at 231st Street subway station in Kingsbridge, following an apparent stand off on the elevated train track between police and the man who officers said was armed with a gun.
