Pelham Parkway: Medical Examiner Rules August Death of Two People a Murder-Suicide

The City’s medical examiner has ruled the death of two people on Aug. 6 in the Pelham Parkway section of The Bronx as a murder-suicide. On Saturday, Aug. 6, at around 9.10 a.m., police from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an aided individual in front of 720 Pelham Parkway South. “Upon arrival, officers discovered two aided, unconscious individuals at the rear of 2199 Cruger Avenue,” a police spokesperson said. “Officers observed a 35-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive with injuries indicative of a fall from an elevated position,” the spokesperson added.

The NYPD have arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old male driver, shot on the Major Deegan Expressway on Monday evening, Nov. 21. The victim later crashed into “multiple” parked vehicles on Sedgwick Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights. Bronx District Attorney (DA) Darcel D. Clark announced that a Bronx man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, plus five years post-release supervision, for stabbing his wife to death inside a Bronx homeless shelter in 2019. A man has died following a road accident on Bronx River Parkway, police said. An NYPD spokesperson said the incident occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at around 10.24 p.m. when officers from the 52nd precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision. A fatal fire in the Unionport section of the southeast Bronx has claimed the lives of four people, including three children, police said. An NYPD spokesperson said the department was advised of the incident on Sunday, Oct. 30, at around 6.03 a.m. Officers from the 43rd Precinct responded to a call regarding a residential fire inside 2165 Quimby Avenue. Representatives of Lehman College said they are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David Carroll Fletcher, a longtime faculty member in the college’s school of education. They said Fletcher was part of the Lehman family for over two decades and served as an assistant professor in the Department of Middle and High School Education. The faculty member died at his home in Mount Vernon on Sept. 12 at the age of 73, according to an announcement by college officials.
