University Heights: Two Sought after Robbery and Assault

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the people seen in the attached video and photos who they say are sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in the University Heights section of The Bronx. 

Bronx Man Indicted for Packaging Fentanyl in Inwood: Deadly Drug Mixtures Seized

Federal officials said a Bronx man, Narcisco Negrum, 45, and a second man, Jose Castillo, 44, from Manhattan, have been charged with various offenses following what they said was a long-term investigation into fentanyl/heroin packaging and distribution in New York City. A third man, Jose Lopez Paulino, 42, of Bridgeport, CT, had also been charged with related offenses by The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor (SNP).

Bronx School of Law and Finance Students Join National Honor Society

Despite what was a rainy afternoon, there were smiles all around on Monday, March 24, as 17 students from the Bronx School of Law and Finance, located on the John F. Kennedy school campus in Marble Hill, were joined by fellow students, parents, friends, and faculty for their induction into the National Honor Society during a ceremony held at the school.

UPDATE Deputy Bronx BP Janet Peguero Resigns to Focus on Family & Amid Kingsbridge Armory Lawsuit Drama

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson announced on Monday, April 7, that Deputy Bronx Borough President Janet Peguero has resigned to focus on her family. The news follows rumors of her apparent resignation in recent weeks following the filing of a lawsuit by a rival bidder, Agallas Equities, in which Peguero, Gibson, Andrew Kimball, CEO of New York City’s Econmic Development Corporation (EDC) were named, and challenged the integrity of the bidding / request for proposal process surrounding the redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory. The winning bidder / chosen developer, Madd Equities, was also named in the lawsuit.
