Ritchie Torres (NY-15), a staunch defender of Israel, while the congressman spoke at a memorial service in the Wakefield section of The Bronx on Friday, Aug. 1, for fallen NYPD Det. First Grade Didarul Islam of the 47th Precinct, a Bangladeshi American Muslim.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Aug. 15 that a Yonkers woman who worked as a guidance counselor at a Bronx high school has been indicted on third-degree rape and additional charges for repeatedly having sex with a teenage boy who was a student in her school.
