La Central YMCA in the South Bronx was filled with energy, purpose, and hope on June 6 during Gun Violence Awareness Month as students from University Prep Charter High School (UPREP) took center stage to present powerful research on how gun violence is affecting their lives, along with community-driven solutions for a safer Bronx.

Bedford Park: East 205th Street Residents Shaken after Afternoon Shooting

There were no injuries reported but local residents were left shaken after shots were fired in broad daylight on what is a relatively quiet residential street in Bedford Pak, 11 days after Gun Violence Awareness Month wrapped up, and as the City continues to see a general decline in shootings.

UPDATE Second Annual Norwood Pride Festival Held
