Carpenters & Contractors Unions Spread Holiday Cheer with Children’s Toy Drives in The Bronx

The New York City & Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, and the Carpenter Contractor Alliance of Metropolitan New York delivered over 1,734 toys to children throughout The Bronx and New York City during the holiday season in December 2022. The unions partnered with local elected officials and community organizations for 7 different events held across the borough and many more held throughout the city. Union representatives said while the holiday season is a joyful one, it can be difficult for many New Yorkers, and union carpenters and contractors wanted to do their part to give back to those in need.

UPDATE Annual Festive Display Postponed Once Again at Popular “Holiday House” on Pelham Parkway

Schumer, Gillibrand Secure $256M for ADA Upgrades to Subway & PATH Systems

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Sen. Veterans’ Plaque Grounded After 1st Veterans’ Flagging Event Held at Bronx Victory Memorial

Norwood: No Injuries Reported from Fire in 5-Story Building at 315 East 206th Street

A fire which broke out in the Norwood section of the Bronx has resulted in no injuries, according to the FDNY.   Fire department officials said they received a call on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 9.13 a.m. regarding a fire on the 2nd floor of a 5-story building (100 x 60 sq. ft.) at 315 East 206th Street.   All Hands, comprising 12 FDNY units and 60 firefighters, were asked to respond to the blaze, which was brought under control at 9.35 a.m., FDNY officials said.   Some windows on the 2nd floor of the building were later seen boarded
