  Montefiore Einstein announced on Thursday, March 2, that an anonymous donor is making a $100 million contribution to Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Fordham Manor: Fire at 2728 Morris Avenue Results in 5 Minor Injuries

FDNY officials said a fire which broke out at 2728 Morris Avenue, a five-story, residential building, on Wednesday resulted in the hospitalization of five people with minor injuries.   When contacted by Norwood News about the incident, a fire department official said the call was received by FDNY at 8.33 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, and the fire was brought under control at 10.10 a.m.  “Main body of fire has been extinguished and incident placed under control,” FDNY officials added. Montefiore Residents & Fellows Vote to Re-Unionize after Four Decades

Resident doctors at Montefiore Medical Center, one of the largest teaching hospitals in New York City, have successfully won union representation with a supermajority of 82 percent, voting in favor of joining the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR/SEIU), the union announced on Feb. 23. UPDATE DSNY Issues ‘Snow Alert’ for Monday, February 27, from 4 p.m.

New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has issued a snow alert for Monday, Feb. 27, from 4 p.m. The alert is in effect through 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28. A snow alert is the department’s “higher-level” winter weather message, as opposed to the “lower-level” winter operations advisory.   Based on current forecasts, 2 to 5 inches of slush or wet snow is possible, according to department officials.
