Plenty of happy faces (as well as the occasional, green one!) were seen at the 25th Throggs Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade held this year on Sunday, March 12. Gibson Adams Join Bronx Muslim Community at Iftar Gatherings

UPDATE Success Academy Charter School to Open at St. Brendan Catholic School Site

After nearly 200 young students and parents rallied outside of St. Brendan School in Norwood on Feb. 24 to protest plans by the Archdiocese of New York to close the Catholic school in September 2023 due to declining income, one of 12 Catholic schools across the City, including six in The Bronx, scheduled to close, parents received a letter dated March 30 from the school’s representatives, confirming that the site has been leased to a Charter school which will open in September.   The letter reads in part, “After our sad announcement in February that St. Brendan’s Regional School would

Ten Chabad Centers from Westchester and The Bronx Host The Jewish Family Festival in Yonkers April 2

Chabad Synagogues and Centers of Westchester County are coming together to welcome families of all backgrounds and faiths to the Jewish Family Festival, an event celebrating Jewish life in the leadup to Passover. AG Announces Prison Sentences for Five Bronx Gun & Heroin Trafficking Ring Members

  New York Attorney General Letitia James announced the sentencings of five people on Wednesday, March 29, for their role in a gun trafficking operation which resulted in the illegal sale of 16 guns in The Bronx. She said the five defendants, who were charged with trafficking numerous assault weapons, high-capacity feeding devices, semiautomatic pistols, and more than 300 rounds of ammunition, all pled guilty and were sentenced for their respective crimes.   Additionally, two of the defendants, Luis Alsina and Michael Alsina, were also sentenced for their roles in the sale of heroin, officials said.
