An affordable housing lottery has launched for units at 2015 Vyse Avenue, a seven-story, residential building in the West Farms neighborhood, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by Gino Longo, the structure yields 26 residential units located near Vidalia Park. Available on NYC Housing Connect are nine units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $46,286 to $167,570. According to YIMBY and NYC Housing Connect, residents will have access to a shared laundry room and parking for an additional cost. Norwood: Gunpoint Robbery & Assault

It was reported to police that on Saturday, Oct. 16, at approximately 3.55 a.m., at the northeast corner of Webster Avenue and East 204th Street, a 22-year-old male victim was walking when three unknown individuals approached him. One displayed a black firearm and robbed the victim, at gunpoint, pistol-whipping him about the face as he did so, and forcibly removing a chain from the victim’s neck, before fleeing in an unknown direction. A car wash employee in the Van Nest neighborhood was hospitalized with a gun shot wound to the leg after a customer got into a verbal dispute with the employee, pulled a gun and shot the worker. Children of all ages, dressed in various costumes, turned out for the annual Pumpkin Party at the Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center, located at 3225 Reservoir Oval East, in Norwood on Saturday, Oct. 30. Carnival games, a smaller and less scary “haunted house,” a photo booth for taking festive photos, and arts and crafts were all on offer this year at the event which was organized by Parks’ department officials.
