Williamsbridge: Police Ask for Public’s Help with Investigation into Fatal Shooting of 18-Year-Old

 

Police appealed to the public for help on Wednesday, Dec. 1, with their investigation into what transpired to be the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old male victim, and the non-fatal shooting of three other people in Williamsbridge, in November.

 

As reported, on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 5.05 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an assault (non-fatal shooting) at 815 Burke Avenue in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, located in the 47th precinct.

 

Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, a 59-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the left leg, a 15-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, and a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso.

 

All four victims were removed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where the 18-year-old was listed in critical condition, and the other victims were listed in stable condition. There were no immediate arrests, and the investigation remained ongoing.

On Dec. 1, the NYPD confirmed that the 18-year-old male victim died on Monday, Nov. 22, and the incident was subsequently classified as a murder investigation. The three additional victims remain in stable condition. There were still no arrests at that point and the investigation continued.

 

The deceased was later identified as Aneki Chung, 18, of Wallace Avenue in Williamsbridge, The Bronx.

 

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, on Dec. 1, detectives shared the attached surveillance video and a photo which shows the individuals sought as part of the investigation.
