According to the NYPD, the latest new head of the recently implemented Patrol Borough Bronx North is NYPD Assistant Chief Aneudy Castillo. Norwood News has asked the NYPD for a biography of Castillo and will share further details as they become available.

UPDATE Kingsbridge: Off Duty Cop Charged with Shooting Man Had Accessed Police Databases without Due Authorization

Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Thursday, June 11, that an NYPD officer who had been suspended without pay after allegedly, while off-duty, shooting a man in the head, has been indicted for attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and other charges in connection to the incident. The shooting which, according to the DA’s office, stemmed from the officer’s search for his stolen car, took place in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx in March, as reported at the time.

UPDATE Bronx DA Hosts Child Safety Fair & Crime Victims’ Tribute

Despite the rain moving the event indoors, a large crowd turned out for the Bronx District Attorney’s 9th Annual Child Safety Fair held Saturday, April 25, at Mosholu Montefiore Community Center’s Parkside Cornerstone building, located at 2972 Bronx Park East in the Allerton section.

Four Men Charged with Sale of Assault Weapon & Eight Other Guns to Undercover Cop

Bronx District Attorney (DA) Darcel D. Clark and Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch announced May 20 that four men have been indicted in a firearms trafficking conspiracy in which nine guns were sold to an undercover police officer out of a building in the Concourse section of the Bronx. One of the guns was a .300 Blackout semi-automatic rifle.
