The Washington Metropolitan Police announced on Twitter on Tuesday morning that they have arrested a suspect sought for the shooting of various homeless people in New York City and Washington D.C. The news was also confirmed by the NYPD in a tweet on Tuesday. The NYPD had been asking the public’s assistance identifying the man seen in the attached photos who is wanted for questioning in connection with two shooting incidents that occurred in Manhattan in the 1st and 5th precincts. The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has issued a winter operations advisory for Saturday, March 12, beginning at 1 a.m. This type of advisory is the department’s “lower level” winter weather message, as opposed to the “higher level” snow alert. One fire truck and a handful of firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire that broke out in Whalen playground at East 205th Street and Perry Avenue in the Norwood section of The Bronx on Friday afternoon, March 10. After five years of haggling, debate, and protests, Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York finally approved a debt restructuring agreement for Puerto Rico in January. Frustrations were evident among the attendees at Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7)’s Parks meeting on Feb. 9, as members and residents expressed their exhaustion when it came to dealing with the Forestry unit within New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. The NYPD said a 22-year-old man was shot in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx and the department released photos of a person of interest sought in connection with the case. The shooting took place on Thursday, March 10, at around 4 p.m., opposite 2995 Botanical Square. Police officials said the gunman approached the male victim, produced a gun, and shot him once in the abdomen. The victim was brought to an area hospital. He will likely survive.
