Fordham Manor: Bronx Man Charged with Kidnapping, Raping Woman Over Several Days

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Monday, May 23, that a Bronx man has been charged with kidnapping a woman and raping her over the course of five days in an abandoned building in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx.   Clark said, “The defendant allegedly held a 28-year-old woman captive for days, raping and beating her with a tire iron. The victim managed to escape with the help of a passerby. Pelham Bay Park: One Arrested in Double Homicide Vehicle Fire Investigation

SCOTUS Upholds Dinowitz Law on Vaccine Mandates in New York State Schools

Fordham Manor: Search for 25-Year-Old Missing Man

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance locating a 25-year-old man reported missing in Fordham Manor, in the 52nd precinct.   It was reported to police that Isaac Vekez, 25, of 2707 Briggs Avenue in Fordham Manor was last seen inside his home on Sunday, May 22, at around 8.30 a.m. He is described as male, is around 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs around 290 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. Jacobi Medical Center & NCB Rank Highest in LGBTQ+ Health Equity Certification Training

  NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi North Central Bronx and its CEO, Christopher Mastromano, honored over 100 employees on May 12, who completed their certifications in LGBTQ health equity, a 7-hour, intensive training program aimed at increasing core competencies in providing LGBTQ health services.   According to hospital officials, the Jacobi campus ranks as one of the sites with the highest completion numbers for the program within the NYC Health + Hospitals health system. UPDATE University Heights: Two Injured in Collision as Driver Crashes into Parked Vehicles at High Speed

  Two people were transported to hospital last week following a road accident on Sedgwick Avenue in University Heights.   The NYPD said that on Thursday, May 19, at approximately 9.05 p.m., the collision took place in front of 2300 Sedgwick Avenue.   A police official said, “An 18-year-old male of The Bronx was operating a 2000 Mercedes-Benz at a high rate of speed, and turned around a bed and lost control of the vehicle, striking three, parked, unoccupied vehicles.”  The police official added, “The driver and [an] 18-year-old male passenger were removed to St. Barnabas Hospital for medical treatment.”

Elections 2022: Kevin Pazmino Confirms Candidacy for State Assembly in District 81

Freelance filmmaker and former District 11 City Council candidate, Kevin Pazmino, has confirmed that he is running for office, once again, this time in Assembly District 81, currently represented by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz.   Pazmino ran unsuccessfully on the Republican Party and Conservative Party tickets in the 2021 City Council general election which was ultimately won by now Councilman Eric Dinowitz. Norwood News had reported recently that Pazmino’s name was being floated in the context of the 81st Assembly race but at that point, he had not formally confirmed his candidacy, though a PAC had been created in his name.

UPDATE Fordham Manor: One Woman Has Died & A Man is Critical After Two-Vehicle Collision
