Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 8.14 p.m. on Friday, March 18, in the vicinity east of the Concourse section of The Bronx. On arrival at 8.16 p.m., firefighters found a fire in the basement of a 5-story, multiple dwelling at 1242 Morris Avenue. The FDNY confirmed that all hands were used, with 12 units dispatched, comprising 60 firefighters. There were no injuries resulting from the fire, and the cause is still under investigation according to department officials. Police have released a photo and video of a person of interest, sought for questioning following the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx. As reported, on Friday, March 18, at approximately 1.31 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person at 3559 Holland Avenue in Williamsbridge. Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached video and photos who is sought for questioning in connection to a robbery that occurred in Fordham Manor. On Saturday, Feb. 19, at approximately 10 p.m., police said two 67-year-old women invited an unidentified man to their apartment, located in the vicinity of Grand Concourse and East Kingsbridge Road. The MTA announced at the end of February that the newly redesigned Bronx local bus network is set to launch on Sunday, June 26. In preparation for these changes, the MTA and New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) are jointly commencing a large-scale public outreach effort to advise customers of the changes that will be implemented.
