MTA to Perform Switch Replacement Work on B, D, F, M Lines between May and July

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on Sunday, April 30, that switch replacement work will begin on the  and Sixth Avenue lines. These switches near West 4th Street in Manhattan will allow the and  trains to move between the uptown local and express tracks. The NYPD said a 15-year-old boy from the Bedford Park section of The Bronx who had been reported missing on Saturday, April 29, was located on May 6.   Prior to being located, police said Oumar Diarrassouba of Briggs Avenue had last been seen on Monday, April 24, at around 7 a.m., leaving his home. Oumar was described as male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, Black, with a dark complexion, a thin build, black hair and brown eyes. Bedford Park: Local Man Charged in Valentine Avenue Shooting

  A 25-year-old local man was arrested for attempted murder and other charges following a daylight shooting in Bedford Park earlier this month.   Officers from the 52nd Precinct were called to Valentine Avenue and East 197th Street for a report of shots fired on Saturday, April 15. Riverdale: Man Arrested following Road Accident which Killed 99-Year-Old Female Pedestrian

A 54-year-old Riverdale man has been arrested following the death last year of a 99-year-old female pedestrian, also from Riverdale.   As previously reported, the 99-year-old died after she was struck by an SUV while attempting to cross an intersection in southeast Riverdale, just west of the Kingsbridge border, on July 27, at around 8.30 a.m.   Police said officers were flagged down regarding a pedestrian who had been struck at Oxford Street and West 235th Street on the day of the incident.
