Wakefield: HPD Launches Housing Lottery for Units at 3941 White Plains Road

NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) has launched an affordable housing lottery for units 3941 White Plains Road, a 4-story, mixed-use building in the Olinville section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

 

Designed by Leder-Luis Building Design, the structure yields eight residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, HPD”s online platform, are three units available for residents who earn 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $74,880 to $227,630.

 

Units come with dishwashers, intercoms, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes, according to YIMBY, and amenities include an on-site resident manager and a virtual doorman. Tenants are responsible for electricity and gas, which includes stove, heat, and hot water.

 

According to HPD, at 130 percent of the AMI, there is a one-bedroom unit available with a monthly rent of $2,184 for those earning incomes ranging from $72,000 to $124,150. Also available is a two-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $2,443 for residents with incomes ranging from $83,760 to $198,250; and a three-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $3,084 for those on incomes ranging from $105,738 to $227,630.

 

HPD officials say prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for the apartments and applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Feb. 9.

 

No pets are allowed, only service pets, according to HPD. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: 3941 White Plains Road Apartments, C/O Reside New York, 349 Keap Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. HPD officials stipulate that applicants should only send one application per development and tenants are responsible for electricity and gas which includes gas stove, heat, and hot water.

According to HPD, the building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption through HPD’s 421a tax incentive program. No deposits/application fees apply according to HPD and more information is available here.
