Two people incurred minor injuries after a car crash in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx on Tuesday night, Jan. 27, police said. A post on the Citizens’ App described an MTA bus crash.
When contacted, an FDNY spokesperson said the department received a call on Tuesday night at 9.40 p.m. for a report of motor vehicle accident at 2085 Valentine Avenue, located between East 180th Street and East 181st Street.
The spokesperson said EMS evaluated one patient with minor injuries at the scene who refused transportation to a hospital. The description of the patient is unknown, and the incident was closed at 10.40 p.m. Norwood News followed up with the MTA and the NYPD for more information on the accident.
An NYPD spokesperson later said that no MTA bus was involved. The spokesperson said that at 9.38 p.m., at East 180th and Valentine Avenue, a 2009 Nissan was stopped facing eastbound when a 2017 Chrysler approached it from behind and could not stop due to the snow. The spokesperson said the Chrysler struck the Nissan from behind, and the driver and passenger of the Nissan both complained of pain to their backs but both refused medical attention.
As reported, it was a busy night in The Bronx for the FDNY and EMS. Two civilians incurred minor injuries and two firefighters were also injured but not seriously after a 2-alarm fire broke out in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx in the early hours of Wednesday, Jan. 28. Operations were ongoing into the early morning.
Also, as reported, there are no injuries reported so far following an “all hands” fire which broke out and spread to several floors in a building in the Allerton section of The Bronx the same morning. Meanwhile, also on Tuesday night, emergency services were called when a person was struck by a train in Kingsbridge Heights and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story referred to the incident as an MTA bus crash. We apologize for the miscommunication.
