Friends of Pelham Parkway said on Wednesday that a young man, one of their young volunteers from Allerton, who was reported missing on Sunday, Oct. 1, has been found deceased. The news was confirmed by the NYPD on Wednesday evening, Oct. 4, who said the City’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death. “The investigation remains ongoing,” a police spokesperson said.

As reported, Foilaam, a cousin of the young missing teen, had shared the following message earlier this week as his family desperately tried to find him, “His name is Julian Brea. He is 17 years old, and he’s been missing since Sunday [at] 7 p.m. Can you put the word out in case anyone has seen him?” Julian’s father, Mohammed, and other members of his family had also shared their contact information as they appealed to the public for help.

Friends of Pelham Parkway said the matter had also been reported to the NYPD’s 49th Precinct, who confirmed Julian lived on Olinville Avenue. They said that it had been reported to them that Julian had last been seen on Sunday, Oct. 1, at around 7.40 p.m., leaving his home.

He was described as male, with brown eyes, short black hair, 6 feet tall, and weighing around 190 pounds. They said he was last seen wearing black jeans, a plaid shirt with a black under t-shirt, and black converse sneakers.

Reacting to the news that Julian’s body had been found, Roxanne Delgado of Friends of Pelham Parkway said, “Post this with great sadness – this beautiful young boy has passed away. Rest in Peace Julian. We had the privilege of your participation in our clean up events.”

She added, “Funeral arrangements are this Saturday. Funeral details will be shared when provided. Condolences to his father and his family. What a tragedy and sad news today – heartbreaking. Julian was such a polite, well-mannered gentleman.”

Police said Julian’s body was located in the vicinity of Bronx River Parkway bike path.

Details of Julian’s funeral have since been released and can be read here.
