Tremont: 27-Year-Old Male Shot Amid Dispute, Suspect Unknown

On Friday, Jun. 5, 2020 at approximately 4:10 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a male shot in the vicinity of East 182nd Street and Grand Concourse within the confines of the 46th precinct.   Upon arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital in a stable condition.   Police said the victim was highly uncooperative and the nature of a dispute which preceded the shooting with an unknown suspect remains under investigation, as does the investigation into the shooting

East Tremont: 53-Year-Old Man Stabbed

Police confirm that an assault occurred on Friday, Jun. 5, 2020 at the northeast corner of Hughes Avenue and East Tremont Avenue at 1:00 p.m. regarding a 52-year-old male who stated to police that an unknown male who was yelling approached him.   The second man bumped into the 52-year-old and stabbed him with a knife in the torso.   Police confirm a report of a missing 33-year-old woman from a residence on University Avenue, in the University Heights neighborhood of the Bronx, last seen at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Friday, Jun. 5, 2020.   The investigation remains active and ongoing. Pelham Parkway: Two-Year-Old Missing After Car Theft from Gas Station

There is an unconfirmed report of a two-year-old child who is missing following a car theft of a Nissan Ultima from a gas station at Pelham Parkway South and Williamsbridge Road in the Bronx at 9:50 p.m. on Jun. 5, 2020. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Pelham Parkway towards Williamsbridge Road before it was recovered. The child remains missing. Residents Take Demands for a Quieter Van Cortlandt Park to Cohen

Picnics and yoga? Forget about it. It’s more like an open-air rave each weekend at the Gun Hill Meadow inside Van Cortlandt Park, which stretches along West Gun Hill Road and Jerome Avenue. ‘El Chapo,’ Whose Drug Network Dominated the Bronx, Sentenced to Life

Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, infamous former head of the Sinaloa cartel, the world’s most powerful drug organization, was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years on July 17, after an 11-week trial that ended in February.
